Where the data comes from
Test names, categories, sample types, price ranges, preparation notes, and typical turnaround ranges are compiled from publicly listed catalog information for self-pay lab testing. City and state coverage is compiled from a public geographic dataset. Where two sources disagree, we prefer the more specific one and drop the claim if we cannot resolve it.
How we choose what to list
We list panels that adults can order directly without a referral. A panel is included only when we can attribute the sample type and a listed price to source data. We do not add tests to fill out a category, and we do not create variations of a panel purely to produce more pages: a test appears once, under a single canonical page, with its alternate names noted and linked.
How prices are shown
Prices are listed as ranges where a panel has multiple options, and as a single figure where only one option exists. A listed price is the self-pay rate at the time of compilation and does not include any promotion that may or may not be running. Prices change, so always confirm the final amount at checkout; the amount shown there is the amount that applies.
How the location pages are built
State and city pages are generated from the same catalog so that the wording and the facts are consistent wherever you land. Each location page repeats the panel details that apply there and links back to the national panel page, which is the canonical source for that test. We mark panels that cannot be ordered in a given state rather than implying they are available everywhere.
What we do not do
- We do not invent prices, coupons, availability, or turnaround times.
- We do not claim that a test is available for online ordering where it is not.
- We do not publish fabricated reviews, testimonials, or ratings.
- We do not provide medical interpretation of results.
Freshness
The catalog is rebuilt when source data changes, and every page carries a last-reviewed date. Where a value could not be confirmed, it is omitted rather than guessed. Coverage and counts shown on the site reflect the compiled dataset at the time of the most recent build.
Limits of this data
This is a compilation, not a live feed. A price or turnaround you see here is a snapshot that may already be out of date, and local availability can change without notice. Nothing here is a quote, an offer, or a guarantee of a particular result, and a listing is never a substitute for advice from a clinician who knows your situation.
Corrections
If something looks wrong, email hello@cheapestlabs.com with the page URL and the correction. We review reported errors against source data and update the page when a correction is warranted.
